The national park is home to the oldest karst mountains in Asia, dating back over 400 million years, featuring a network of over 220 kilometres of mapped subterranean waterways and caverns, with new cave systems still being discovered. It's most famously recognised as the home of the world's largest cave, Hang Son Doong.
